The following was taken from this weeks EVE University public mailing list which you join in game by signing up to ?Classes.E-UNI?.
The primary purpose of EVE University is to teach new (and old) players about the basics of life in EVE and various aspects of game play. To that end they hold regular classes, both theoretical and practical, in order to accomplish this goal. You can find more information on how to join their classes on their website. If you are unable to attend a live class due to time zone differences, you will also be able to find transcripts of their classes as well.
Please note that most of their classes are public! You do not need to be a member of EVE University to join!
This is a preliminary overview of University classes scheduled for the week of Monday, 25 July. All dates are subject to change at the discretion of the lecturer and/or teaching staff. All times are specified in EVE time. All classes are open to the public unless specified otherwise.
Monday, 25 July
17:00 - Combat probing / advanced D-Scan
This is a class about advanced D-Scanning and about combat probing: how to find ships in space reasonably quickly. This is useful for those of you who want to be doing pvp, but it is also useful to those who simply want to be running missions / farming anomalies / doing exploration / whatever somewhat safely: knowing how hunters operate helps make you a harder target. Paledan Safemal will lead you in this class.
Tuesday, 26 July
03:00 - [Q&A] Game Mechanics
Join Professor Seamus Donohue for one of his regular sessions where you can bring questions on anything EVE related and he will shed light on your problem.
Thursday, 28 July
15:00 - Intro to Mining & the AMC
Mining is one of the most common and reliable ways of earning ISK in EVE, especially as a newer player. In this class, we'll introduce the essential elements for successful resource mining (asteroids, ice, and gas), and discuss various types of mining operations. This class will also serve as a general introduction to the AMC. Paragot Bezior instructs.
