With EVE NT Collides and EVE NT Fightclub for the 2015/2016 season now behind us the EVEsports team have been hard at work reviewing the past year.
Over eight months the EVE_NT EVEsports team ran 8 episodes of the Collides series. The participants of the competitors received a total of 150 IGC Typhoon skins, the winners themselves walked away with a whopping 45 skins estimated at a value of 675 Billion ISK.
The EVE_NT EVEsports team also ran a new experimental tournament format 'Fight Club' which spanned four episodes.
All the teams that competed were some of the best that the EVE player-base had to offer and matches were hard fought providing some fantastic showdowns. Tactics and rules were analysed, formats studied and the EVEsport team have been brainstorming to bring you the 2016/2017 season.
After learning important lessons from the completion of both 'Collides' and 'Fight Club' the decision has been made to take the best that both leagues offered and amalgamate them into one super league - The EVE_NT Championship!
Last season we broadcast a match live once a month, every month, for eight months. In this season in order to shorten the length of the competition to provide the teams with more down time to practice not only for this tournament, but potentially others, all 8 matches will be held every weekend over 9 weeks with a one week break in the middle.
The tournament is split into two leagues, provisionally called the Major League and the Minor League. Points will be scored for each match and the total points at the end of the season will determine your teams final ranking. At the end of the season teams will be offered as spot in the following season/league determined by where they placed.
Ships for both leagues will be pre-fitted and teams will need to field 1 of each of the following classes; Battleship, Battlecruiser, Cruiser, Destroyer, Frigate. We have chosen this format to find the right balance between participant and viewer pleasure. Exact fittings will be available on the website closer to the tournament start-date and subject to change, based on changing mechanics and statistics
To compensate for the removed complexity for the captains , we will be using a banning tool that will be ready for viewing and testing this summer. Expect this to be smooth in terms of management but taxing on your tactical skills and knowledge of the ships available.
The invites for teams will go through a captain specifically rather than being tied to an alliance or corporation. This also means that teams can be made up of pilots not in a specific alliance or corporation. Teams will need a minimum of 10 pilots on their roster with a maximum of 15. Pilots cannot fly in another team in either league. At the seasons mid-point we will allow a 'transfer? weekend in which teams are allowed to swap up to 5 pilot, either with other teams or pilots not currently playing in either league.
In this season there will be a total 16 positions for teams and the application process to be a part of this years tournaments are now open! The 12 previously competing teams have priority and invitations went out earlier this week to the respective team captains. and they have until the 31st of June to confirm their places. The application period for both invited and applying teams will end on the 31st of June where the final teams will be announced.
But now the fun bit - Prizes! Last year we had 150 IGC Typhoon skins to give to our competitors. This season we have a massive 505 brand new IGC Apocalypse skins!

If you want to submit your team you can do so by visiting our EVESports page here. Please be sure to read the information before completing the application form found in the last section.
But this is not all! Thanks to CCP we also have 8 of these IGC Apocalypse skins to give away in each show! So if you can't compete in the tournament make sure to tun into EVE_NT TV's twitch stream for a chance to win a skin with an estimated value of 7 billion ISK!
And if that is not enough, we will also be giving away one of our single run t-shirts every show! Designed by Rixx Javix this shirt is ordinarily only available if you attend an EVE_NT event in Nottingham, Cardiff or London! These shirts are currently being printed by kaulis.com as we speak and we hope to be able to show you finished versions in the next week or so, but in the mean time here is a mock up of the shirt.
We hope you all tune in for the new season, coming soon! Keep an eye on EVE_NT for updates in the near future. o7
