With the Council of Stellar Management (CSM) Elections coming up soon we at EVE NT have contacted all the running candidates who have announced their intentions to run and provided them with a standardised interview template. The goal of this is to give each candidate a set of standard questions for them to respond to with the aim of helping you, the voter, to choose a candidate who best represents you and your play style to CCP. The same questions have been asked of every candidate as to allow easier comparison. The responses posted are unedited and will be published in the run up to the opening of the voting period on February the 29th in the order that they have been received. You can find out more about the CSM elections here.
Today's candidate is Commander Aze.
Please start by giving us a short introduction to who you are and your history within EVE Online. Include how long you have been playing and the groups you have been involved with.
3 years give or take a few months. Started in high sec as a miner in a industrial corp rose to the number 2 spot in the corp as a mining director. About 6 months in was introduced to pvp and have not gotten much better. However about 8 months in I was introduced to logistics which I've made a name for myself in. Turned to incursions for ISK (TDF), Former CUP FC, Former East India Company FC, Former Battlement FC, Former SERIN FC/LC, Managed an empire of 15+ POS at one time
Some notable events, the Crushing of Freeport 1, otherwise known as the CT8K Slaughter 40 (Our side) vs 300 (PFR + TEST) with a commanding win and recapture of the system. Was Renting Space during the Collapse of S2n Citizens, Askaki and B-R.
Who would you consider to be your key constituents, who you would best represent within the playerbase?
high sec however those that know me know I stand for anyone that asks for help. I?m easy to talk to so I?m hoping that people would feel comfortable coming to me with ideas and concerns about new content.
Please summarise your platform. (Preferably using key bullet points)
CSM11 is going to be a year of rebuilding and reshaping of the CSM. Specifically the CSM needs to grow its relationship with CCP and build back some trust that has come from people who really have had no business being elected in the first place. the CSM isn't a popularity contest it's critical player base connection to CCP meant to sort ideas and funnel feedback to the dev team. average joe off the block isn't who you want.
Why have you decided to run for CSM this year?
I run every year for the same reasons, 1 i firmly believe that independent candidates, those not attached to power blocks are wholesale better than those that are.
Have you run for or been a member of CSM in the past? If so please list each year and if you were elected.
This will be my 3rd campaign, never elected.
What makes you a unique representative when you compare yourself to other candidates?
Out of game experience with management of public concerns.
Do you have any out of game experience and skills that make you a good candidate?
I am an Emergency Manager by trade with degrees in Political Science and Public administration. You want someone that knows how to work with the public in times of trouble. I?m your guy. I travel across the country doing this.
What areas of EVE are you weakest at knowledge wise?
Wormholes mass limited and etc
If you was offered one year of unlimited development time - what's the biggest change you would lobby for in EVE?
War Decs (no win conditions as is defence can only lose) / Bounties (Useless as is)
If you could wind back the clock - what feature or change would you remove from EVE?
wouldn't release the walking in stations without a firm plan for it. or constantly make promises then not meet them.
If you could pick one candidate to be elected with you, who would they be and why?
Sugar Kyle. I think if anyone knows what the csm it is her.
What is your favourite memory in EVE and why?
Getting hot dropped while gate camping by 42 black ops battleships while in 2 myrms. was overkill but hysterical to us. or the Battle for ct8k where we won outnumbered 1 to 4.
What platform(s) do you use currently to engage with the wider player base? If someone wanted to contact you what is the best way to do this? (Include Twitter/Emails/Skype/Slack etc.)

In short - what is your closing statement.
I'm not here to make promises I'm here to represent the playerbase and build a better CSM and through it a better EVE online. let's build a community's stake in the CSM and not just the big block proxy voters.
Additionally A focus on rebuilding the credibility of the CSM is a primary focus of mine.
