The UniWiki and You

Image of The UniWiki and You

Since CCP took down the official EVE Online wiki from its sites player run groups have been hard at work archiving and building replacement sites to provide reference points for the denizens of New Eden. The most utilised of all of these sites has over the years been the outstanding UniWiki over at eveuniverity.org.

The Uniwiki is a public resource provided by EVE University to provide information about EVE Online. On top of this EVE University also provide their content under a Creative Commons licence, which means you are free to share and adapt it as long as you give credit.

But understandably a wiki of this size requires a lot of maintenance. Djavin Novienta the newly appointed Wiki Manager released the following statement:

Hello everyone! My name is Djavin Novienta, and I’m the newly-appointed Wiki Manager at EVE University.

As most of you already know, the UniWiki is one of EVE University’s services to the greater EVE community, and yet we sadly don’t often hear from players that aren’t either current members or alumni. It’s a rare treat to get feedback from outside the Uni, because it gives us a glimpse into how to better serve the rest of the playerbase.

Since the Wiki Team was (re)formed about six months ago, we’ve been hard at work with some much-needed cleanup and reorganizing. Page categorization has been consolidated, pages have been re-named, prettified, and revised, and all told the UniWiki is in a much better place than when we started.

With that said, our work is never finished, and we’d still love to hear from you! We really do appreciate feedback, and we’re open to suggestions, concerns, article requests, anything that might help the UniWiki better meet your informational needs! After all, the UniWiki serves all of New Eden, not just EVE University.

Please feel free to contact me in any number of ways: via PM here on Reddit, through Tweetfleet Slack, Evemail, or via Twitter (@musicmage4114).

I am honored and humbled to be given this responsibility, and I will do my utmost to ensure that the UniWiki is as comprehensive, easy-to-use, and accessible as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you!

If you want to get involved in this huge undertaking be sure to contact Djavin for more information on how you can support them.
