CSM12 Candidate: Lorelei Ierendi

1. Please start by giving us a short introduction to who you are and your history within EVE Online. Include how long you have been playing and the groups you have been involved with.

Abridged from my Campaign Thread:

I am a High Sec Carebear, and proud of it!

High Sec Carebears tend not to socialize too much, and are only members of NPC or small corporations.

Well, this is not the first character I have created in order to play "EVE". I have never been a member of a big alliance or coalition. I have never been a member of a big corporation. Hell, I have never left High Sec space before the CSMX Election.

I kept my eyes open for an online version of a space-sim... and that is where EVE comes in.

I really enjoy (as in "really") flying transports, fulfilling contracts, and, sometimes, mining.

2. Who would you consider to be your key constituents? Who would you best represent within the playerbase?

High Sec Care Bears. People that have no desire to participate in the more risky parts of space. I would be the voice of the disinterested masses.

3. Please summarise your platform. (Preferably using key bullet points)

(See the first post of my Campaign Thread)

High Sec is worth fighting for.

4. Why have you decided to run for CSM this year?

The High Sec carebear (probably the majority of players) needs their perspective represented in any feedback that is getting through to the people that matter… especially considering the “knock on” potential of any changes.

5. Have you run for or been a member of CSM in the past? If so please list each year and if you were elected.

I ran 2015 and came in 15th out of 14 places. Unfortunately my cross-platform support was miserable, so I did not get asked to replace any people that resigned or got thrown out.

I ran 2016, but lots of my supporters from 2015 were no longer interested in the CSM after all the drama with CSMX

6. What makes you a unique representative when you compare yourself to other candidates?

Everyone is an individual, me included.

And being the high sec carebear that I am, just as in last year, I have not been following the campaigns of other candidates. I have resisted the urge to propagate myself by posting in all their threads. I am trying to run on the strength of being a high sec carebear… with all that entails.

7. Do you have any out of game experience and skills that make you a good candidate?

Yes.

8. What areas of EVE are you weakest at knowledge wise?

I have never been or done anything in Faction Warfare. That is the one area of EVE that I think I am weakest in, to talk about what is going on.

9. If you were offered unlimited development time - what's the biggest change you would lobby for in EVE?

Unlimited development time? I wrote a blog entry about CONCORD, but to sum up, I would get the CONCORD mechanics revamped, so they at least make sense.

10. If you could wind back the clock - what feature or change would you remove from EVE?

I’d remove the Captain’s Cabin on the space station. Ask me why, I dare you.

11. If you could pick one candidate to be elected with you who would they be and why?

A candidate that is running, or any candidate?

From those that are running, I think that fuzzysteve should definitely be re-elected.

12. What is your favorite memory in EVE and why?

Flying around in null sec for the first time, visiting some historical sites (wreck of Steve etc). I blogged about it.

13. What platform(s) do you use currently to engage with the wider player base? If someone wanted to contact you what is the best way to do this? (Include Twitter/Emails/Skype/Slack etc.)

At the moment, I am purely limiting myself to in-game channels. Otherwise, I am contactable through my Blog, EMail, EVEmail, Skype, Facebook and Twitter. If I am elected I shall broaden things out…

14. If people wanted to find out more about your platform - where is the best place to do so? (Include blogs, forums posts and podcasts)

Read my Campaign threads, from this year and previous years. My blog (see my forum signature, whilst reading my campaign thread) has some information. Otherwise talk to me, write me EVEmails and so on.

15. What is your closing statement (no more than 500 words please!)

Despite the disheartening messages that have come from CSMX, this past year the CSM have been doing a nice quiet job - check out the minutes of the summits! We, the players should not give up on this institution. Everyone should vote for the candidate that they feel represents their point of view, or that can represent their point of view. If we just vote for candidates, because “CCP deserves them”, or as a joke, then well… we only have ourselves to thank.

High Sec is important, it is here that most players start the fascinating adventure that is EVE. The High Sec point of view should be represented in any initiative that has potentially contact with the developers.

High Sec is worth fighting for!
